Gail is a lecturer in the School of Applied Social and Policy Sciences at Ulster University and Course Director for the Certificate in Youth Studies programme. She teaches on a number of modules across the BSc and Postgraduate programmes in Community Youth Work. With over 20 years’ experience as a youth work practitioner across Northern Ireland, Gail’s practice has focused on challenging inequalities, campaigning, children’s rights and action-based research.
Gail has been a board member of Start360 since 2023, and it’s been both fulfilling and worthwhile in her experience. Gail believes Start360’s work is truly life-changing – offering young people and adults crucial support and a trusted ally when they need it most, especially those often overlooked in society. She is proud to contribute as part of a committed and skilled board, working alongside the senior leadership team to help shape and strengthen the impact of this vital organisation.
As a current board member of Start360, Gail encourages anyone considering joining to think about the real impact they can help shape. This is a chance to use skills and experience to support thousands of people across Northern Ireland through services that change lives – from mental health to justice and employability. It’s a role where your voice helps guide meaningful, lasting change.
