Volunteering at Start360 is about more than giving your time. It can be an opportunity to build confidence, develop skills, gain experience and take the next step towards education, training or employment.
Through our CHANGE Volunteer Programme, we create supported volunteering opportunities for people from all backgrounds, including those who may have experienced barriers to employment or have lived experience of the issues our services work alongside people to overcome.
At Start360, lived experience isn’t something we simply talk about. Seven people with lived experience have progressed into employment within Start360, bringing their knowledge, insight and experience into our workforce.
We believe that experience can be a strength.
CHANGE: volunteering with a purpose
The CHANGE Programme provides a supported pathway where volunteers can contribute to meaningful work while developing personally and professionally.
Lived experience matters here
Some of the people who understand our work best are people who have experienced challenges themselves.
Experience of the justice system, recovery, mental health challenges or other difficult periods in life does not automatically prevent someone from volunteering with Start360. We consider people as individuals, recognising their strengths, circumstances and what they can contribute.
Our CHANGE Programme is designed to help remove some of the barriers that can prevent people from gaining the experience they need to move forward.

We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, skills and experiences.
You must be over 18. All roles require an enhanced AccessNI check and specific training. Suitability is considered in relation to the individual and considered on a case by case basis, and we welcome people from all backgrounds.
Our volunteers are expected to work in line with Start360’s current values:

Some roles may require a background check or specific training, but we’ll support you every step of the way.
